Traysikol
FAQs
Common questions about Traysikol
Is Traysikol free?
Yes. It’s free to download from Google Play, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
How is the fare computed?
The base fare covers the first kilometer, or however far your area’s fares say. Each kilometer after that adds the per-kilometer rate, and a partial kilometer counts as a full one. A Special Trip, where you hire the whole tricycle, costs the fare times the number of seats, usually 4. The distance is measured along the roads between your stops.
Is this an official government app?
No. Traysikol is an independent app. It isn’t made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any government agency or local government, including the LTO and LTFRB. Fares are estimates for guidance only, so always confirm with the driver or local authorities.
Which cities are supported?
You can pick any city or municipality in the Philippines. Where Traysikol has no fares for your place, set the base fare and per-km rate you usually pay in Settings > Edit Base Fare, and saving it helps us add fares for that place.
Why are some fares marked “unofficial”?
A fare is marked official only when the app can link to where the city or municipality published it. Other fares are based on publicly reported rates. If you know where your city published its fares, email the link to hello@traysikol.com.
Are there discounts for students, seniors and PWDs?
Yes. Students, senior citizens and persons with disabilities get a discount, usually 20%, on regular trips. Show a valid ID to the driver. The discount doesn’t apply to Special Trips.
Does it work without internet?
Searching for places and measuring the distance along the roads need a connection. Offline, you can still place your stops by moving the pin on the map, and the fare is estimated from the straight-line distance between them. Your fare settings and trip history are saved on your phone.
Why is there a daily limit on road routes?
Traysikol is free, but measuring a trip along real roads uses map services that charge for or limit every request, so each phone gets a set number of road routes a day. Checking the same trip again while the app is open doesn’t use another. When they run out, the fare is estimated from the straight-line distance, with 20–40% added for the roads. They refill at midnight.
Does the app need my location?
No. If you allow it, Traysikol uses your location only while the map is open, to start your pick-up point where you are. Without it, move the pin to your pick-up point yourself.
How do I delete information I sent you?
Email hello@traysikol.com with the subject “Delete my data”. The Delete your data page, linked at the bottom of every page, lists what we keep and for how long.
Is there a web or iOS version?
There’s no web version. Traysikol is on Android through Google Play, and an iPhone version is coming soon.
The fare looks wrong. What can I do?
Check that Your Area in Settings is where you’re riding, and that the trip type (Regular or Special Trip) and discount are right. If you use a custom fare, update it in Edit Base Fare when local fares change. A fare shown as a range was estimated from the straight-line distance, because the road route wasn’t available. If a fare is out of date, or you know where your city published its fares, tell us through Report Bug in Settings.
